Cancellation and Failed To Attend(No Shows) Policy for Island Dental

At Island Dental, we value your time and are committed to providing you with the best possible dental care. To ensure the efficient management of appointments and to accommodate all our patients, we have implemented the following cancellation and Fail to attend(FTA) policy:

Appointment Reminders: We will send you an appointment reminder one week before your scheduled appointment via your preferred communication method. You will have the option to confirm your appointment with a “Yes” or “No” response. If you have replied with ‘Yes’, your appointment will be confirmed promptly. If you have replied with ‘No’, we will contact you shortly to reschedule. If we do not get any reply and are unable to contact you at least before 24 hours to your scheduled appointment, your spot will be offered to patients in need of care and your appointment will be considered as ‘cancellation without prior notice’.

48-Hour Reminder: You will also receive a reminder 48 hours prior to your appointment.

Cancellation Notice: If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly request that you provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows us to offer the appointment slot to another patient in need of dental care including emergencies.

Cancellation Fee for Late Notice: Patients who cancel their appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice or fail to attend their appointments without prior notice will be charged a cancellation fee of $100. Patients arriving 10 mins late to the scheduled appointment may be included in the FTA category.

Deposit Requirement: Patients with a history of frequent cancellations or no-shows may be required to make a non-refundable deposit of $100 when booking their appointments. This deposit will be applied to your treatment fees during your visit.

Use of Deposit for Cancellation Fee: If you cancel your appointment within the 24-hour window or fail to attend your appointment, your $100 deposit will be used as the cancellation fee.

Weekend appointments: Our Front Desk staff may ask for a $100 deposit for weekend appointments to avoid no-shows and this deposit will be applied to the treatment fees.

Long appointments(60mins or more): For procedures that require more than 60mins, our Front Desk staff may ask for a deposit of 50% of the total scheduled treatment fees.

Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we will consider individual cases with compassion and understanding. However, we encourage all patients to be mindful of the impact of last-minute cancellations on our ability to provide timely care to all our patients and sustainability of our clinic’s operations.
